8. Governance & DAO
8.1 Governance Principles
Governance in M87 is structured to progressively evolve from founder-led decision-making to a community-driven DAO framework. The goal is to ensure hat tokenholders, who collectively contribute to the success of the ecosystem, gain a direct voice in shaping its future.
At inception, governance parameters are managed by the founding team with transparent disclosures. Over time, authority is transferred to tokenholders through structured voting mechanisms, enabling decentralized oversight of emissions, reserves, and treasury management.
8.2 Scope of Governance
Governance will extend across three primary domains:
• Economic Parameters – adjustments to emission schedules, Rewards Pool multipliers, and liquidity incentives.
• Treasury Management – deployment of the Reserve Fund, execution of buybacks, and allocation of strategic grants.
• Ecosystem Development – approval of new partnerships, expansions into additional venues, and adoption of new token use cases.
This framework ensures that governance is not abstract but directly linked to the economic and operational health of the project.
8.3 Treasury & Reserve Oversight
The Reserve Fund (14.38% of supply) serves as a strategic buffer to manage adoption gaps, support liquidity, or finance expansion campaigns.
8.4 Roadmap for Decentralization
Governance will follow a phased decentralization roadmap:
1. Foundational Phase – issuer retains control, publishes quarterly reports, invites community feedback.
2. Hybrid Phase – tokenholders vote on key parameters (burn percentages, reward multipliers, liquidity ratios). Treasury management remains partially centralized.
3. Full DAO Phase – tokenholders collectively govern emissions, treasury, partnerships, and strategic expansion. Proposals are executed on-chain with minimal central intervention.
8.5 Strategic Alignment
The governance model is not designed as a symbolic feature but as a core utility driver of $M87CS. By granting tokenholders a direct role in shaping economic levers and ecosystem growth, governance becomes a key incentive to hold and participate in the token economy.
Over time, as DAO maturity increases, governance participation itself may become a pathway to additional rewards, further reinforcing the connection between community engagement and ecosystem value creation.
